STEAM workshops at QUB
Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, children in the older group (ages 10-14) attend weekly STEAM workshops at QUB — the centre for science and art in Cluj-Napoca.
Who QUB is
QUB is a centre dedicated to STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics), located on the ground floor of the "Octavian Goga" County Library in Cluj-Napoca (Calea Dorobanților 104). It's a space where science and art work together, and learning starts from curiosity, exploration and teamwork — exactly the values we live by, every day, at School of Joy.
The QUB Education program is funded by the Botnar Foundation as part of the Our Cluj initiative and developed with the support of Cluj-Napoca City Hall and the County School Inspectorate — a serious partner with deep roots in the Cluj educational community.
Why this partnership
Our philosophy says real learning happens through projects, experiments and hands-on work — not lectures. The STEAM workshops at QUB carry exactly this idea further, with specialised equipment and facilitators a small centre like ours couldn't offer on its own. Children leave the house, work in a new space, with new people — and that, in itself, is a lesson about the world.
How it works, in practice
Children in the older group (ages 10-14) attend a weekly STEAM workshop at QUB's premises, accompanied by our facilitators. The workshops have a separate cost, paid by parents — the exact details (the day of the week, the cost per workshop) are set at the start of the school year and communicated directly to enrolled families.
